VAL—Vehicular Adaptation Layer, for NDN

نویسندگان

چکیده

High mobility and intermittent connectivity of nodes are the main characteristics Vehicular Ad-Hoc Networks (VANETs). These two aspects cause problems in traditional IP networking. Named Data Networking (NDN) is presented as one most promising paradigms for future Internet. NDN a data-centric architecture. It relies on data names instead host’s location to make forwarding decisions. In NDN, any node can be candidate supplying desired content. This feature makes architecture appealing VANET scenarios (V-NDN). paper presents strategy applying VANETs with support geographical-based forwarding. For this purpose, an additional layer called Adaptation Layer (VAL), proposed illustrate how performed without altering primitives core structure. VAL provides: 1) mechanism bind producers’ consumers’ geographic areas; 2) discovery find areas 3) capability implementing, plug-and-play manner, geo-forwarding algorithms capable guiding Interests towards producers packets consumers.

An ATM Adaptation Layer for Reliable Transfers

There has been much attention given to ATM Adaptation Layers (AAL) over the ten–year history of ATM standardization. Yet none of the existing standards include a retransmission protocol to ensure reliability of the transfers. In this paper we propose an AAL for doing selective retransmissions of individual segments that have been lost or corrupted in the transfer. Since the amount of retransmit...

An implementation for ATM Adaptation Layer 5

IP over ATM technique is gaining popularity due to the Quality of Service (QoS) and other management features offered by ATM and its ease of integration with almost all existing technologies. This paper deals with the granularity of implementation of ATM Adaptation Layer 5 (AAL 5) protocol stack. The focus of this study is to propose an AAL 5 implementation that would outperform the existing im...

Link Layer Adaptation for Shared Wireless Links

Published in: Mobile Networks and Applications, Volume 13, Number 3–4, 2008, pp. 259–273 Abstract— While traditional link layer protocols assume that they fully control the underlying link, in contemporary wireless networks the link may be dynamically shared by sessions belonging to different users and/or applications. To assess the impact of link sharing, we measure the File Transfer and Web B...

Cross Layer Adaptation for QoS in WSN

In this paper, we propose QoS aware MAC protocol for Wireless Sensor Networks and its cross layer extension to network layer for providing QoS in delay sensitive WSN scenarios. In WSNs, there can be two types of traffic one is event driven traffic which requires immediate attention and another is periodic reporting. Event driven traffic is classified as Class I(delay sensitive) traffic and peri...
